Background

Malawi Government has been receiving support from the Global Fund totaling US$2.1billion cumulatively since 2003.

The funding is granted towards the fight against HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria, including building resilient sustainable systems for health (RSSH)

This support has significantly reduced death rates across the three diseases in the country and towards the Global Goals and targets as shown:

Implementation Arrangement

The Ministry of Health (MOH): is the public sector Principal Recipient (PR) for the TB/HIV and Malaria grants.

It is primarily responsible for biomedical and health systems interventions.

The MOH operates the grants through the Programme Implementation unit

World Vision: Private Sector PR

Primarily responsible for non-biomedical/ community interventions.
